When I stayed in Austin, TX, last weekend, I was fully prepared for TexMex. And I feasted on breakfast tacos, and other local hotspots. However, when I stumbled upon Le Politique, an Austin – based restaurant with French flair, I was both surprised and impressed.
With upscale ambiance and reasonably priced dishes, not to mention spot-on French technique, Le Politique’s French brasserie experience is relaxed and sophisticated. The restaurant and patisserie draw influence from local farmers, is technique-driven, and creative.
Expect steak frites, roasted chicken, escargot and creative cocktails. Sit out on the Parisian-style patio or grab some stools at the elegant bar space.
Escargots ft. burgundy snails, garlic butter, baguette ($10)
The Royale with Cheese Grass-fed beef, caramelized onions, swiss & gruyère cheese, Russian dressing, pickles, & fries ($16).
The double burger is enough for lunch and dinner, so bring your appetite. The frites are classic and crunchy.
